THIS IS SAM’S STORY

We met Sam in November of 2020. He had only the clothes on his back and a folder with a ruffled stack of papers. He was confused, tired, and in despair. He had been released by immigration two days before and had nowhere to go.

WE CAME AROUND SAM.

We quickly found out that he had fled his home country in the Middle East after his family discovered that he had changed his religion. Guns, threats, and fear for his life drove him to the US, where more trouble found him. After our first meeting and assessing the situation, we decided to walk along with Sam for five years.

HERE’S WHAT’S HAPPENED IN HIS LIFE.

Now, years later, after consulting with immigration lawyers, navigating court cases, helping him find a home, and surrounding him with a loving community, he is full of hope and life. He is now married, holds a green card, and works a full-time managerial job. He's no longer trapped in despair. He is now serving others and assisting us to reach more refugees. Sam is an excellent example of the work Hope Tribe does in helping families rebuild their lives.
