Muhammad and his family have been waiting in Cuba for over nine years. Emma, who knows what it is like to be stuck there, introduced us to his family. Scarcity and the unknown are their friends.

There is no electricity for three to four days at a time. Medicine is nearly impossible to find. The cost of basic goods is exorbitant. After receiving US approval to travel, the US canceled their flight without warning this past February. Muhammad clutched onto hope. The next day, it was gone.

Muhammad shared this message with us, and we are choosing to keep it in his own words because no rewrite could match the raw truth and heartbreak it carries.

Hope Tribe is raising $900 to purchase a small generator and vital medications for the children. It won't solve their immediate despair, but it will bring respite and ease some of the suffering as they float in limbo. It also helps to rebuild the hope they've lost. We want them to know they are non forgotten.
