MEET JORI’s FAMILY.
Jori and her children came to the U.S. as legal refugees from Syria at the end of 2024. Divorced and raising three children alone, she is determined to build a new future.
Her two youngest children have significant health needs. Her son uses a wheelchair and is non-verbal, while her youngest daughter has a condition affecting her growth and organs. Her oldest daughter is quickly learning English, attending school, and often helps at home with her siblings..
URGENT NEED: 10,800 to assist rent and living expenses for six months.

Jori works tirelessly for her children, but like many refugees, their needs surpass her resources. Soon, their rent assistance will come to an end in October. Expected federal policy changes mean their SNAP food stamps and TANF support may be eliminated, increasing their vulnerability.
Current Reality
Jori is resilient and motivated. She is learning English, has her driver’s license, and received a car from a local church. She wants to work, but weekly doctor and therapy appointments for the two youngest make it difficult to secure a normal job. A caretaker’s stipend helps, but it’s not enough for rent, utilities, and food.
Will you help provide hope for Jori and her children by making a donation today?
This family is facing some of the most difficult challenges encountered by those we serve. Many families reach self-sufficiency within 12 to 18 months, a goal we always strive for. However, Jori’s journey will not be straightforward or easy, even when it comes to what is considered “normal” for refugee families Hope Tribe assists.
I recall another instance when a refugee agency in Dallas contacted us. They needed help with a mother of three after her husband left. She could not pay rent along with other significant needs. The agency trusted us to support her for as long as needed. Our years of journeying with Fatema led to her self-sufficiency and well-being today. Walking alongside Fatema wasn’t easy. Where most would have stopped, we kept serving, driven by our love for her and her children.
Government support is waning for refugee mothers in need, and many agencies are struggling to secure funding. Hope Tribe is honored to serve in this unique capacity.
We believe in serving the 'least of these.' If we don't help, who will?
James 1:17 reminds us:
“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God... is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction…' and Deut. 10:18. states, “He executes justice for the fatherless and the widow, and loves the sojourner, giving him food and clothing.”
We would be honored if you would join us in giving and serving this family. The goal is to raise the needed funds to assist her with her rent for 12 months and other living expenses. It’s a big commitment. This will enable our “tribe” of people being mobilized in Nashville to support a longer-term strategy that helps her achieve self-sufficiency.
Please consider committing to a monthly donation or giving a one-time special gift of any amount. Your support will help meet the goal for Jori’s family.
