Due to the government shutdown the SNAP food benefits to Emma and her children will cease at the end of October. She is also looking for a new full time job and in need of rent assistance this month. Please give using the link above.

UPDATE End of July 2025:

Emma needs a car ASAP. She currently relies on Hope Tribe, parents, and Uber for transportation, but this is not a sustainable solution. With a car, Emma will be able to get to work, drop her daughter off to school this Fall and allow her son to use it for work as well making their lives easier.

We are raising $4,000 to help her purchase an older Honda or Toyota Sedan.

Emma is working hard at Wal Mart, and her family is striving for a better future. Her youngest daughter is about to start school for the first time next month, and her oldest is looking for full-time work and aiming to finish his GED. Emma has also started serving with Hope Tribe as our liaison and connection to refugee families in Cuba. She often attends church with us. As a single mother, she’s doing everything she can to provide for her children. She works part-time, walking to and from her job each day. In August, when her daughter begins preschool, she’ll be able to work full-time. But with no vehicle, her options remain limited, and the daily burden is heavy.

Recent government cuts to refugee assistance have left her without the support she depended on. Still, she’s saving diligently for a car—just something simple and reliable.

We want to meet her halfway.
